A new city at an old crossroads
Groveland sits where State Road 19 meets State Roads 33 and 50 in south Lake County. It covers about 27.5 square miles, nearly a quarter of it water, and it is recognized as the first International Dark Sky Community in Florida (Wikipedia). The population grew to 18,505 at the 2020 Census and is estimated at about 22,000 for 2020–2024 (Census Reporter).
